There are 3 different models of Pfaff Hobby sewing machines, the 1122, the 1132 (the one I am using as a reference in this article) and the 1142. As you might imagine the Pfaff Hobby 1122 is the basic model of this line of sewing machine, the 1132 the middle range and the 1142 is the top of the range in this models. It isn’t a huge different in between the three sewing machines; they all have an innovative German Design and an they are easy to use! All stitches are clearly shown in front of you also recommending the appropriate presser foot. The Pfaff Hobby 1132 ha 17 high quality stitches, in comparison with the 1122 that has 9 stitches and the 1142 has 23 high quality stitches.

The three models of the sewing machine Pfaff Hobby have an easy threading system, thanks to marked threading paths and a drop in bobbin!

The bobbin thread is picked up automatically in the 1122, 1132 and the 1142. Also the sewing machines sew in reverse easily by pressing the reverse stitch lever. They have a practical for tying-off beginnings and ends of seams., as well as all the accessories you need to get started are including, like the Zig Zag Foot, Blind Stitch Foot, Zipper Foot,Sliding Buttonhole Foot, bobbins, needles …

Another good feature of the Pfaff Hobby series sewing machines are oil free. There is no need for a greasy maintenance and you can sew quietly and smoothly without the risk of staining your fabrics.with oil.

Another characteristic that this Pfaff Hobby sewing machines share is a very sturdy hard cover which is included. Very useful to protect your hobby when not in use. They also have a slim free arm for working on tubular items such as cuffs, trouser legs, necklines and more like those.

This series of sewing machines have variable needle positions, the Pfaff Hobby 1122 have 2 needle positions, and the 1132 and 1142 series of the Hobby have 6 different needle positions for precise topstitching, without having to move the fabric. Perfect for sewing zippers in place without moving.

The three models also share this characteristics: Extra spoolpin included for easy bobbin winding. They can also be used for sewing with a twin needle!They have an adjustable stitch length up to 4 mm! The Buttonholes are easily sewn! The Stitch density can be adjusted according to the fabric you are using and the high presser foot clearance to make room

for heavy fabrics or several layers of fabric.

You can’t miss how easy is to change the presserfeet – Only by pressing a button presserfoot is released!

This is ideal for quilting and patchwork, and the most common measurements are marked on the needleplate in millimeters and inches.

Considering that the middle range Pfaff Hobby 1132 costs around £225.00, the features that offers and the great reliability from a great make of sewing machines is incredible. This would be my first choice for a simple and reliable sewing machine for under £300.

Back to the features of the Pfaff Hobby sewing machines , the 1142 (top of the range in this series) has a one-step buttonhole to sew the perfect buttonhole easily. The width of the buttonhole can be adjusted up to 5 mm. This feature is not available in the 1132 or in the 1122 model.

The 1132 and the 1142 Pfaff Hobby sewing machine have this features: an adjustable presser foot pressure for even fabric feed and an adjustable stitch width up to 5 mm. Not available in the basic model Pfaff Hobby 1122.
